Joel Perdue became the Pastor of North Merritt Island United Methodist Church on September 1, 2008.
Joel is gifted in the areas of evangelism, teaching, leadership administration and intercession. The manifestation of these gifts is evident – the fruit of his work and life bears witness. Joel‘s leadership and administrative abilities are evident and a blessing to our church. Not to be overshadowed is the leadership Joel brings. He is a leader by example; Joel is actively involved in a close relationship with the committee leaders and spiritual leaders.
Joel‘s abilities come from his dedication and commitment to being a person of prayer and devotion. Joel has regular time in prayer and of daily meditation upon God’s Word. This is an area in which we value as we catch hold of our vision – to make disciples. After all, we can’t give what we don’t have. So as we seek to be a light in the world, and make disciples, we first need to be disciples.
Before entering the ministry, Joel served many years in the hospitality industry. He has a degree from The Ohio State University and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary.
Pastor Joel and his wife, Christina have one child: Leilah. They also have a dog named Angel.
